The Chatter & Chalk Difference:
At Chatter & Chalk Academy, we offer a unique, language-based curriculum specifically designed to meet the individual needs of each child. Through close collaboration with caregivers, teachers, and developmental therapists, we create a holistic learning experience that supports every child’s growth.
• All of our lead teachers hold at least a bachelor’s degree in education or early childhood education, ensuring a high standard of expertise and care.
• Children enrolled in the academy will receive before and after care services as needed from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm with instruction from 8:00 am- 3:00 pm.
• Children in need of speech-language pathology or occupational therapy services can receive therapy during the school day, integrating their therapy seamlessly into their learning routine and reducing the need for families to get outpatient services in the evenings after a long day of work.
• Our developmental therapists provide enriching support in the classroom, enhancing language, literacy, social skills, and motor development to foster well-rounded growth for all children.
• Teachers will observe and monitor children’s progress in comparison to their own strengths and areas in need of support.
Curriculum
Our academy curriculum is thoughtfully designed to nurture language, cognitive, motor, and social development. We use the Language-Focused Curriculum for Preschool, enhanced by the Children in Action Motor Program for Preschoolers (CHAMPPS), to support well-rounded learning. A standout feature of our approach is the involvement of developmental therapists who offer personalized learning experiences. For instance, speech-language pathologists work with the entire class on narrative intervention, a proven method for boosting reading skills. Every week, teachers and developmental therapists collaborate, reviewing lesson plans to share insights and resources for a more enriching educational experience.

8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Arrival and breakfast
8:30 AM – 8:40 AM: Break Time/Transition
8:40 AM – 9:00 AM: Circle Time
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Activity Centers
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Gross motor play
10:30 AM – 10:45 AM: Break Time/Transition
10:45 AM – 11:30 AM: Lunch
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Story Time
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Rest Time
1:30 PM – 1:45 PM: Snack Time
1:45 PM – 2:45 PM: Outside Play (or indoor physical activity dependent on weather)
2:45 PM – 3:00 PM: Break Time/Transition
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Music Time and Dismissal
*Children needing aftercare will continue play in activity centers until pick up 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.*

We will schedule a tour to make sure we meet your family’s needs.
If you think we’re the peanut butter to your jelly, we’ll send you the enrollment paperwork in the Procare application to complete before your desired start date.
